It might also be that the compressor is overheating from running for too long. Lastly, the centrifugal switch may not be functioning properly. WebIt can't possibly have any bearing on the situation. As the flowchart above points out, what can keep it from tripping is the lack of the supply side NEUTRAL connection as this will keep the circuitry inside the AFCI from being powered (or the unit is defective).
