Slowing rotation of the earth
Webb6 aug. 2024 · By University of Tasmania August 6, 2024. Precise measurements show that Earth’s rotation has been mysteriously slowing down since 2024, making the day longer. Precise astronomical observations, combined with atomic clocks, have revealed that the length of a day is suddenly getting longer. Scientists don’t know why.

Webb25 jan. 2024 · Geophysical phenomena, the analysis of which allowed Chinese scientists to draw conclusions about the slowdown in the rotation of the earth's core, can be interpreted differently. With the same probability, these data may indicate not the cessation of the movement of the nucleus, but a change in its structure. At the same time, the speed of … Earth's rotation or Earth's spin is the rotation of planet Earth around its own axis, as well as changes in the orientation of the rotation axis in space. Earth rotates eastward, in prograde motion. As viewed from the northern polar star Polaris, Earth turns counterclockwise. The North Pole, also known as the Geographic North Pole or Terrestrial North Pole, is the point in the Northern Hemisphere where Earth's axis of rotation meets its surface. This point is distinct fr…
